The route up to Montmartre
The Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur sits at the highest point in Paris, on top of the Butte Montmartre in the 18th arrondissement. From Disneyland Paris it is around 42 km: the A4 westbound, onto the Boulevard Périphérique, off on the northern side near Porte de la Chapelle, then up through Montmartre’s winding streets. Allow 50–60 minutes. The real advantage of a taxi here is the last stretch — rather than climbing the long staircases or queuing for the funicular from Pigalle, your driver takes you up the hill by road and sets you down close to the summit.

Tips for visiting Sacré-Cœur
The basilica itself is free to enter and opens early; the dome climb (300 steps) rewards you with a sweeping view across the whole city. Mornings are calmest, while late afternoon gives the warmest light on the white stone and the best atmosphere on the steps below. Ask your driver about a set-down point near Place du Tertre or Rue du Cardinal Dubois so you start at the top and wander downhill through the artists’ quarter afterwards.
